Course Description

This class looks at altering necklines , sleeves, waistbands and darts.

We can also look at making a pattern from a favourite garment.

The day will start with samples pattern pieces and full instruction on how to construct different necklines and sleeves. We will cover the basics of pattern drafting and then we will move onto alterations with darts and waists. After lunch you will get a chance to draft a pattern from a favourite garment. This garment should be quite simple in it’s construction for your first go at pattern drafting. You can also bring a pattern / patterns you would like to make uniquely yours according to your style, and get hands on help with adjusting elements.
